Medical aid schemes use their own discretion when considering reimbursement for compounded or personalised medicines. In general, however, they do not pay for compounded medication.

Compounded medications do not have National Pharmaceutical Product Index (NAPPI) codes. A NAPPI code is required to submit a claim to a medical aid.

CPSA does not submit claims to medical aids and does not handle medical-aid enquiries on behalf of patients.

The invoice and prescription copy supplied by our pharmacies contain the information your medical aid scheme needs to consider your claim.
